LandCulture
Indigenous Land Restoration

On LandCulture Days we practice becoming one with the land through hands-on tasks of replanting, tending, and growing wilds and gardens. We learn about native plants, their cultural significance and how to communicate with them.

With the goal to restore the land to pre-colonial conditions, we clear invasive plants and replace them with beneficial species. We cook a meal over the fire together and practice communal living as our ancestors did in their villages. This is how we create an understanding of our existence within the ecosystem.
